Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

The singer's new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
