Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
American entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic television series such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones said in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared on social media.
Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
