Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates features text commentary for Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , following last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games was the number of penalties each committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it was good to observe how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers but they could position two LBs in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show that Denver could be this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has excelled significantly and recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks fifth league-wide in ground gains (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love how the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows how Denver are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in positive situations.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he is so athletic.

His assets are his mobility, being able to pass while moving, as well as using different arm angles to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws across the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great poise under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.

When you consistently rush it eats up the clock and forces the opponent to be in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence has to cover the field vertically side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has bitten back at Payton during games sometimes and it seems Payton likes that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB helps shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to help you through difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're working above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Ever since the NFL started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising when you think that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

This hinges on what version Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
